Attributed to Shop of the Crafters Furniture, Oscar Onken, Cincinnati Drinks Stand Cabinet. Chesnut. 1906. Old refinish. Features tapered sides, interior shelf and a carved wooden tile insert. Chestnut was a prized tree, straight grain and rot-resistant, reaching heights of over 100 feet until a devastating fungal blight, first identified in 1904, killed 3-4 billion trees by the 1950s. It was also used briefly by Gustav Stickley and Charles Limbert.
